Open your heart and offer the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:

“…those who turn back from following the LORD…”
(Zephaniah 1:6)

How could anybody do that, Jesus!

How could anyone who has

tasted the sweetness of a 1on1 relationship with You
experienced the joy of worshiping with Your people
felt the release of sins forgiven

bail on You?

How could anyone in his or her right mind quit?

For what?

It’s us, isn’t it?

Not You.

It’s the sins some of us still long to commit

those of us who are still buying Satan’s lies
who keep being deceived by his bait-and-switch advertising.

But it’s also the sins we keep committing against one another –

holier-than-thou judgmentalism
favoritism
hypocrisy
prejudice
gossip
greed
pride
lust
lies

For some of us, the contrast between what Church could be
and what it is

just gets to be too much.

But don’t count me in their number.
