Lazaroo – Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Oct 25, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in sober reflection:
“‘If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.’ For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
(Isaiah 1:19-20)
I’ve seen this played out over and over in my life, Jesus
in others.
It’s a bit harder to see
in myself.
When I watch somebody – somebody who knows better! –
resist You
rebel against what they know down deep is right
I shake my head, baffled.
“What are they thinking?!”
When their actions finally catch up with them and it all comes crashing down, I think to myself:
“What a waste.”
Uh-huh.
But what about me?
Where am I resisting and rebelling?
What have I been doing
failing to do
even though I know better?
God help me turn it around.
Not tomorrow.
Today.
Before it all comes crashing down on me.

the scripture that jumps out at me today is Matthew 7:3-5 and i really like the Message version. i have someone in my life who is annoying and making me crazy, but i am probably “that someone” to others around me! Jesus, help me to handle the situation correctly and not have it boomerang back at me…
