like wax before the fire,
like water rushing down a slope.”

You do know how to make an entrance, LORD!

You did it

when You spoke the universe into existence

when You delivered Your people out of the hand of Pharaoh

when You revealed Your majesty on Mt. Sinai

when Elijah called down fire from heaven

when You joined three young Hebrews in a fiery furnace

and when You sent Your only Son to enter this world as a tiny baby

to pay for our sins on the cross
and rise from the dead.

You’ll do it once more

when You come back for Your own
destroy the worlds You made
and create a new heavens and earth.

But for me?

The greatest entrance You ever made
was the day I gave myself to You

and You entered my heart.
