Apr 11, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:
“‘Are you the prophet?’ He answered, ‘No.’”
(John 1:21)
John was a prophet…but not the prophet.
Jesus, You are the prophet Moses predicted would one day come to rescue Your people!
But Satan made sure John was tempted
to think he might be able to take Your place.
You, know, come to think of it…
Satan hasn’t changed his tactics much.
He keeps trying the same thing with me.
When I take credit for something without mentioning You
I’m giving in to Satan’s temptation
to take Your place.
When I invite someone into my life without checking with You first
I’m giving in to Satan’s temptation
to take Your place.
In fact, every time I assert my right to make my own decisions without asking You to guide me every step of the way…
I’m giving in to Satan’s temptation
to take Your place.

Yes .. that is truly what a relationship with Jesus is all about. Striving to keep that divine relationship is difficult for us .. His children .. but very important. I think we sometimes forget how lovingly pure, but fiercely jealous and terrible our God is.
