Lazaroo – Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Apr 14, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in sober awareness:

“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
(1 Corinthians 1:10)

Yes, Jesus! I want

agreement
no divisions
perfect unity.

But how?

Apparently “wanting it” isn’t enough

‘cause we’ve sure got a boatload of

disagreement
division
disunity

in Your Church.

Unless our problem is…

we don’t want unity enough.

Maybe we want our own way

more than Your way.

Maybe winning our battles

is more important to us than winning Yours.

There’s nothing I can do about the attitudes of the rest of Your children, Jesus.

The only control You’ve given me

is over myself.

And frankly

that’s about all I can handle.

May the unity I long to see in Your Church

begin with me.

  1. Jeff Allbright Says:

“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not recieve, because you ask with the wrong motives, that you may spend what you get what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people , don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think the scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intenesly? ” James 4:1-5
How I wish I could subdue, once for all, the flesh that lives within me that the spirit that he caused to live within me would always get His way!
