Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 24, 2011
Aug 24, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Beg God for His gift of discernment, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary…”
(Lamentations 1:10)
I’ve seen it too, Jesus.
I’ve watched once great denominations cave in to the pressures of conformity, no longer willing to –
be the gadflies of our society
pay the prices of those who stand alone
bear the shame, ostracism and disgrace of the outsider.
I’ve watched the descendants of faithful Christian people
reject the Godly lifestyle of their ancestors
buy Satan’s cheap, tawdry lies
sell their birthright for a bowl of rotten beans.
I’ve watched well-meaning Christian leaders
employ cutting-edge, risky evangelistic strategies
that go right to the edge of the line
then cross it.
It sickens me.
On a LORD’s Day, I show up with my brothers and sisters to worship You
and there where I long to experience what is sacred
I’m served the profane.
Give them and me wisdom to know the difference
between relevance
and heresy.
