Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Aug 03, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with explosive feeling:
“We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you…”
(2 Thessalonians 1:12)
Are you serious, Jesus?
I understand that Your name is glorified when people
drive openmouthed through a spectacular range of mountains
discover new wonders in Your expanding universe
relax on a beach to the sound of crashing surf
gather in hushed awe to witness the birth of a baby.
But how could Your name be glorified in me?
I’m not at all impressive.
How could anyone take a look at me
and think more of You?
My constant fear is that the reverse will happen –
they’ll take one look at me
and wonder what in the world You were thinking
when You made me.
But if only they could get a glimpse for the briefest moment
of what I’d be without You…
they would fall on their faces in worship.

Very good. That made me laugh. Thank you very much for continuing to bless the people of God.
