Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 31, 2011
Aug 31, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed gratitude:
“Has not the food been cut off before our very eyes…?”
Joel 1:16
It would be bad enough to have my ordinary food cut off, Jesus.
It would leave me feeling
hungry
grouchy
panicky
desperate
utterly forsaken.
But how much worse to have my spiritual food cut off –
before my very eyes!
That’s exactly what has happened to my suffering brothers and sisters around the world.
They’ve had their underground house churches raided
their pastors imprisoned
their Bibles confiscated
their songs of worship silenced.
Next time I enter my church to enjoy a worship service…
please help me remember their plight –
and remind me to pray for them!
then help me take it one step farther, filled with gratitude, because –
I’m free to worship You publicly
our pastor hasn’t been jailed for preaching Your Word
I still have my Bible
I can lift my voice in praise to You.

Watching Beijing Authorities Arrest Dozens of Christians was heartbreaking. China doesn’t realize that this will bring forth more Christians in China. Reading The Voice Of The Martyrs & how those dear Christians suffer to love Jesus, it is truly humbling. I am thankful for all that we have here in America in our churches, but sad that so many are willing to toss it away or take it for granted.
