Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Jul 13, 2011 I Lazaroo.

God help me lay aside my preferences, as I pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“On the south will be the divisions of the camp of Reuben under their standard…The tribe of Simeon will camp next to them.”
(Numbers 2:10, 12)

I love Your hidden truths, Jesus.

You reveal as much through what You don’t do
as by what You do.

You could have left it up to Your people to decide where to camp

based on their preferred friends
who they wanted to be near.

But You didn’t.

Instead, You told each of Your tribes where to camp…

…and who was going to camp next to them.

Which raises the question:

Why?

I get along with some people better than others.

Some people are fun to be with!
Others are a drag.

I don’t like assigned seats.

But it’s not about what I like, is it?

You’re more interested in what I –
and the person You’ve camped next to me

need.
