Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Jul 15, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy fear:
“If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock…he is to offer a male without defect.”
(Leviticus 1:10)
A lot of things have changed since You commanded us to worship You in this way, LORD.
But one thing hasn’t changed.
You still expect me to offer You my very best.
After all…
…when You sent Your only Son Jesus to die in my place…
…he was the ultimate “male without defect.”
How can I offer You any less?
Except…
…“less” is exactly what I have to give.
I’m far from perfect.
So is everything I have to offer You.
All I have to give
is my all.
I know that’s not good enough.
You deserve far better.
But I am willing to take You at Your word –
That You Yourself will accept what You know to be my best
and will gladly make up for everything I lack.

It’s a shame that frail humanity can’t consistently offer our best. God’s mercy is amazing.
As far as Judge Sotomayor, I believe she will be confirmed if she is supposed to be; not if not. Sometimes God places people in positions for a particular purpose, not necessarily because they are best for the job in human purpose. God sees the big picture. That being said, I don’t have any idea if the judge would be a good justice by “our” standards or not.
