Lazaroo – Wednesday, June 29, 2011
Jun 29, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Ask God to fill You with His courage as you pray aloud this Lazaroo:
“‘Pick me up and throw me into the sea,’ he replied, ‘and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.’”
(Jonah 1:12)
A lot of people dump on Jonah, Jesus.
He ran from you
had to be forced to obey You
demonstrated a rotten attitude.
But before I join the chorus of Jonah-haters
am I willing to do the amazing thing he did on that ship?
He faced the storm
recognized it was extraordinary
sought to discover its cause
and realized…
the fault was his.
Then he did something as extraordinary as the storm that engulfed them:
Believing it would cost him his life
He confessed his sin in front of everybody.
He had no way of knowing You would rescue him.
Neither do I.
But when it is my fault
Give me the courage of Jonah.
