Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the heart of a God-follower:

“…we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.”
(Colossians 1:9)

I want to know Your will, Jesus.

But I’m not going to discover it by merely human means, am I?

It’s got to be by Your Word
and by Your Spirit.

It doesn’t matter

how smart I am
how much experience I have
how much research I do
how wise my counselors.

Trying to predict Your will by studying what You’ve done up to now

is like driving by looking into my rearview mirror.

The road ahead

may be very different from the road behind.

You’re not “God in a box.”

You’re always good, loving and merciful
but Your goodness, love and mercy are utterly unpredictable.

You will always be
who You’ve always been –

the God who’s up to something new.
