Nov 23, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud…with contentment:

“The leader of the people of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni. His division numbers 35,400. All the men assigned to the camp of Ephraim, according to their divisions, number 108,100.”
(Numbers 2:22-24)

I have to wonder, Jesus…

were the people of Benjamin jealous?
Ephraim outnumbered them 3-1.

I struggle with that sometimes, myself –
especially when I compare myself to people who have more

more money
more land
more experience
more popularity
more power
more opportunities
more freedom
more connections
more education
more homes
more cars
more room
more choices
more clothes
more creativity
more talent
more sophistication
more friends
more time

Somebody’s always going to have more than I have.

Of course, the opposite is also true:
Somebody’s always going to have less.

My choice:

1. Be jealous
2. Be proud

or, since You’re the one who passes all this stuff out…

I could decide to just be

thankful.

Yes we could think of “those mores” as more responsibilities. And when all those things are present .. usually there is less time to see or appreciate the awesome love God has for us & the unique ways He bestows it.
    Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Great thoughts to go to the Lord in prayer over. Thanks. Another passage that I just studied 2 days ago and that impacted me greatly on this is James 3:13-18, a couple of those verses are “… But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. .. “
