Lazaroo – Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Sep 19, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in desperate faith:

“Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.”
(Psalms 4:1)

There are times…

when this is the only prayer I can pray, Jesus!

for relief.

I try to be strong.

I love to say:

“Bring it on!
Whatever it takes!

“I’ll pay any price!
Endure any hardship!

“Gladly take up my cross and follow You!
Use me however You will!”

And some days – I’d like to think most of the time –

I’m there.

But there are moments –

okay, sometimes longer than that –

there are days
weeks
maybe even seasons

when I don’t have anything left

no gas in my tank
no energy in my body
no passion in my spirit.

At such times I’m just drained

used up
empty

devoid of all emotion

except hopelessness.

When I’m there…

I’m so grateful

that’s it’s okay for me to shamelessly beg You

for relief.
