Lazaroo – Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Sep 21, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo, with gritty, never-say-die faith:

“Only be strong and courageous!”
(Joshua 1:18)

Only be strong and courageous,” Jesus?

That’s it?

But interestingly, those weren’t Your words to Joshua.

Those were the words of Joshua’s soldiers.
That’s what they begged Joshua to be:

“strong and courageous.”

Nobody wants to follow a chicken-hearted leader.

It takes guts to be a follower
to trust somebody else

to decide what you’re going to do
and how you’re going to do it.

The least a leader can give his followers

is strength and courage –

even in the face of overwhelming odds
even when the first dozen tries fall short.

But in that kind of brutal environment, here’s the problem:

“strength and courage”
can look exactly like bullheaded arrogance.

Which is it?

Will strength and courage save the day –
or will it lead everybody straight off the cliff?

It takes more than a strong, courageous leader, Father.

It takes You.

Yes .. and It can also be that way for a parent or an individual in any area. Seeds can be planted and with strength and courage given by God one can grow trust & see success in what God wants you to accomplish in your homes, peer groups or even in those you meet day to day.
    God leads and edifies.
