I’ve had that happen, Jesus.

I’ve set my defenses, confident they’d hold
only to discover to my horror

that they were as flimsy tissue
before the enemy of my soul.

As is Joel’s prophecy concerning the Day of the LORD

mine is a spiritual battle.

If I don’t remain daily in my 1on1 relationship with You

drinking in Your Word
obeying You

whatever defense I present cannot hold

when Satan chooses to attack.
