Lazaroo – Tuesday, May 5, 2009

“‘I have loved you,’ says the LORD.”
(Malachi 1:2)

Why do you have to tell me this, Jesus?

It’s because I too easily forget, isn’t it?

Please forgive me!

When I fail to remember the countless ways You’ve shown Your love to me, I leave myself wide open to satanic self-pity.  I start feeling unimportant, all alone and unloved.

But Satan is a liar.

Maybe I ought to take a few moments to thank You for every single thing You did for me yesterday, large and small.

What if I did that again tomorrow – and the next day and the next?

That wouldn’t scratch the surface, would it?  How many times over the years have You stepped in to help, guide and protect me without my ever knowing it?

Oh, my God!

There’s no denying it.

I am loved.

Self pity is a like being in a room with a one-way mirror. One can only see the self, while God can look through the same glass and see the individual and the subject is unaware of God’s presence. Lord, help me convert the mirror to a window.

  2. Chad Says:

Why is it that we lose site of his love at times? Is from all the distractions we have in life? It is so warming and great to think of the love Jesus has for us, so you would think that we would’nt lose that site easily. I am greatful to know how much love he has for me and others.

My first reaction to this was to think of all of the times, if Lazaroo covers the entire bible, that we’ll see a verse that talks about God’s love for us. It’s a beautiful thing.

Being thoughtful about the kind of warfare that takes place every day is both difficult and also immensely helpful. Keeping perspective on God’s great love for me in the face of the problems of my life is my challenge for today.

  4. John Tevault Says:

Praise the LORD, for I am loved! this just makes me want to love Him more and more. For without seeking God with all the love He has given me, than I leave room for satan to sneek in.
