Lazaroo – Friday, June 5, 2009

4 comments, Jun 05, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with no-holds-barred surrender:

“Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.”
(Nehemiah 2:2)

I’ve been there, Jesus.

No one knows that better than You.

In fact, even though You have showered me with more good things than I can count…

…there is sadness within me now.

Most people couldn’t guess the cause of my sadness.

There are days when I can almost hide it from myself.

Still I wonder:  Does it show on my face?  Does anyone notice?

If they do, does anyone really care?

If not – why should they?  I have no right to be sad.  The world is full of people who carry burdens far heavier than mine.

But that’s not how You see it.

If I hurt, You hurt.

You’re my Best Friend in the whole world.

So I give this sadness

     to You.

What a great reminder to know that my burdens never go un-noticed by God. Even when it seems like nobody else could possibly understand the burdens that life throws my way, it brings me peace to know that God understands and is there for me.

WOW! This one really hit home with me today. I have been battling a sadness in my soul that no one else even knows about…not my husband, not my family, not my friends. I have felt like I was carrying this burden all alone, but today’s message made me realize that I am NEVER alone. Thank you so much for sharing each and every day…it has made such a difference in my life:-)

Hey, Jeff – it’s only cheesy to people livin’ on the surface. But in here, where it gets very, very deep? Your honesty is music to our ears. Thanks for daring to be the real deal.

This is timely for me. I felt like this yesterday. The assurance that I have a place to take this unexplainable sadness sews the seeds of joy and contentment. Today, He caused the sun to shine on my world and in my heart.

    Sorry for the cheese. 😉
