Lazaroo – Monday, March 9, 2009

“You have stayed long enough at this mountain.”
(Deuteronomy 1:6)

I know You spoke these words to Your people at another place and time. But You make it clear You gave us these words so we would learn from them. That means I have to ask:

Are You speaking these words to me, now?

Has some part of my life run its course, Jesus? Is it time for me to move on?

There’s grave danger in asking these questions. I don’t want to use them as an excuse to give up on a person You’ve given me to love or a task You’ve assigned me to complete.

But if anything I am now doing prevents me from accomplishing the task to which You are calling me next, I’ve GOT to know –

Have I stayed long enough at this mountain?

God really has a way of getting his words to come through to those of us who seem to be a little unaware lately! I don’t believe it is coincidence that those words were on this page today, March 9, 2009! And it sounds like there are others who also felt like it was God speaking to the very question they have been asking themselves? Have I been at this mountain long enough? I have goosebumps!!!

    Praise GOD for this link.

Along with this reading everyday, K-love blesses me with a song that comes to mind on this post. “Revelation” by Third Day—

    Give me a revelation,
    Show me what to do
Cause I’ve been trying to find my way,
    I haven’t got a clue
Tell me should I stay here,
Or do I need to move
    Give me a revelation
    I’ve got nothing without You
    I’ve got nothing without…

    I don’t know where I can turn
Tell me when will I learn
Won’t You show me where I need to go
    Oh oh
    Let me follow Your lead,
I know that it’s the only way that I can get back home.

Our plans are not always God’s plans. Sometimes it is right to move on, even as you arrive. This prayer is something that perhaps we should pray every day. The timing of this Lazaroo is uncanny. We should remind ourselves that facing our challenges, or walking away from them, is not often easy.

Exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for this ministry.

Wow! That is all I can say. I have been struggling lately as to whether my present job has run its course and if I have made the right decision. This reading this morning hit me hard. I will continue praying to see what God reveals as the answer!

You speak words so true. I love those in my life who are not afraid to challenge us to the core. That’s what you have done for me here.
