“…a servant of Jesus Christ.”
(Jude 1:1)

Is this what You want me to be, Jesus – Your servant?

It doesn’t sound like a very important position…until I notice the hall of fame greats who called themselves by this “lowly” title.   People like:

Moses.
David.
Peter.
James.
John.
Paul.

To join them and qualify as Your servant I would have to:

Go where You go.
Do what You tell me to do.
Serve without needing or expecting thanks.
Serve You only.
Be treated the way You were – by Your friends…and Your enemies.
Serve You the way You serve Your Father…and me.

O God.

I am totally unworthy to be called Your servant.

But that is exactly what I long to be.

Linda – you’re right! David’s willingness to wait on God’s time and to serve others meanwhile is a little-recognized reason God called him a man after His own heart.
