Lazaroo – Wednesday March 11, 2009

“You eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.”
(1 Corinthians 1:7)

How eager am I for You to return from heaven and reveal Yourself to the world, Jesus?

You know when I’m truly eager to see You face to face and when it doesn’t cross my mind for days at a time.

You know whether or not I sometimes wonder if You will return at all.

Please show me:  Am I personally ready for Your return, or are there sins I’ve got to stop…assignments I must complete?

If in Your strength I took a serious run at those two issues, in what ways would my life change?  How would my obedience improve the lives of those around me?

Would I be more likely to look forward to Your return with passionate anticipation?

I think this concept is one of the hardest to wrap our minds around. Is Jesus coming? Will we even see Him when we pass? What reality do we REALLY live in? We are caught up in this world, which is quite trivial in an eternal sense, always telling ourselves we have time to get and stay right with God. But we won’t ALWAYS have time, will we? We either believe and surrender now, or risk being spewn out of the mouth of God.

Lord, thank you for the patience and love that you have for me. Please help me “get” you.
