Lazaroo – Sunday, May 10, 2009

“It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.”
(Leviticus 1:9)

What offering would You like to receive from me, Jesus?

What can I…give You?

You already own it all.

You don’t need anything.

And yet…

There is something, isn’t there?

Something that would thrill You even more than the pleasing aroma of that offering from Your people 3,500 years ago.

Because of what You did for me on the cross, You no longer require the sacrifice of a dead animal.

You invite me to offer You a living sacrifice:

Every part of my body in total slavery to You.

My heartfelt praise – offered every moment of every day.

O God!

May this – my spiritual act of worship – be holy and pleasing to You!

This slavery we give to Him not only pleases Him, but satisfies us. God never wants anything that isn’t beneficial to us. When we are slaves to God, we are completely free. God has a way of showing up our “wisdom” with His “foolishness”.
