“Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God.”
(Romans 1:1)

I’m happy for Paul, LORD.  He knew what he was, who he was called to be and exactly what You had set him apart to do.

What am I?

Who have You called me to be?

What have You set me apart to do?

The life assignment You gave Paul was a perfect fit for his abilities and personality. His daily discoveries along that path had to be a unique thrill for him and You.

I long to share that thrill with You, Jesus.  When You’re ready…

…please reveal the one-of-a-kind task You tailor-made for me before the foundations of the world.

Sometimes, I think, we don’t want to know the answer to these prayers. God uses us in ways that HE wants to use us. We may pray that God uses us that way, but He may have us be a servant – to make someone comfortable. We must be humble enough to accept whatever role God has for us.
