“Naomi’s husband died, and she was left with her two sons.  After about ten years, [her sons] also died.”
(Ruth 1:3-5)

I can identify with her, LORD.  There are times when I feel utterly alone.

Sometimes it’s because I have no one with me.  But sometimes I feel loneliest with I’m surrounded by people.

There are times when I feel alone because everyone opposes me – or at least they would, if they knew what I had done or was thinking.

At other times, those sharp pangs of isolation spring from the awareness that I’m just…different from everyone else.

Either way, if they knew the real me down deep, I’m not at all sure anyone would like me.

But You do, Jesus!  When You look at me, You see the 1-of-a-kind masterpiece You lovingly designed me to be.

I’m never alone, am I?

I have You.
