“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself.
(Daniel 1:8)

I don’t want to defile myself, either, LORD.

Although You hate all sin, I know there are certain things You especially detest – things that threaten to ruin all that is good and holy.

God help me:

Be sexually obedient to You.
Never turn to a medium for advice.
Do everything in my power to preserve the lives of innocent children.
Keep a clear conscience before You.
Stay free of all bitterness.
Put You first above everything and everyone else.

But it’s too late.

I’ve already defiled myself, because Your law is like a chain – when I break even one link, I’ve broken the whole chain.

I confess my sin.  Help me detest it as much as You do.

Rip it out of my life and purify me!

In Jesus’ Name.

Amen.

John and Jeff – I love your poetic language!

“…to continue letting the seed inside me to grow…”

“the Grace…that fills all the gaps of my failures.”
