Matthew 27:62-66

The dust settles as my Savior
lay dead in a tomb
the chief priests and Pharisees
didn’t know what to do

but they remembered before you died
you said the phrase
“I will rise again from the
grave in three days”

so they secured the tomb
preventing some kind of deception
having no idea they’d soon
learn a valuable lesson

I wonder what the guard felt
reflecting words spoken
scared of possibly witnessing
Jesus’ tomb open

God in Heaven
with your Father at the throne
after all the suffering
you finally made it home

saving EVERY soul
your mission status complete
in the morning these tough guards
are in for a REAL treat!!!
