Lazaroo – Friday, August 12, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with God-inspired faith:

“I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.”
(Psalms 3:6)

I love David’s crazy, audacious, Banzai faith, Jesus!

What moves me the most about his declaration is that he wasn’t sitting in some auditorium packed with Christians who had just heard an inspiring sermon delivered by a charismatic speaker.

He was literally surrounded by tens of thousands of heathen soldiers
who were intent on killing him and totally destroying his army.

This was no theoretical expression of faith in You.

His life was on the line.

It seems pretty clear that his eyes were focused on You, rather than on his immediate circumstances.

He didn’t pretend those circumstances didn’t exist.
He knew exactly what they were –
he knew the odds against him were long.

But he wasn’t playing the odds.

Like I am this very moment –

He was counting solely on You.

We have such a messy world today. the stock market is unreliable, the political temperature is unreadable. In so many places the young people are raging. Being in danger of losing all you hold dear CAN happen, even in our safe, coddled world. Many of these events seem prophetic, and I feel that God will soon stand up, bringing His children home. I pray I can steel myself against the worries I see and trust in God and not my own resources.
