Stand in awe, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“Alas for that day! For the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.”
(Joel 1:15)

I don’t like to think of You this way, Jesus…

but why not?

I should.

After all, this is You –

just as much as Your mercy.

You are incredibly patient with us.

You give us so much time to repent

You give us every reason in the Book to turn it around

to change our ways
to turn from our sins
to run to You.

But when they refuse

when You look into their hearts
and see nothing but darkness

when You look into their future
and see nothing but deepening depravity

You cannot allow it to continue.

You will not tolerate Your righteousness
forever to be trampled underfoot.

On that day

just as on the day of the cross

You will be worthy of my praise.
