Lazaroo – Friday, December 25, 2009

1 comment, Dec 25, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy awe:

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
(Philemon 1:3)

It’s been more than 2,000 years since You enveloped some terrified shepherds in Your glory

filled the sky with angels

and announced that Your promised Messiah had finally arrived on earth

as a newborn baby.

You promised those shepherds peace –

not the kind of peace they may have imagined –

but the kind of peace only You can give
the kind of peace no enemy or circumstance can take away

a peace I do not deserve
a peace that comes only by Your grace

the peace of knowing that Your blood on the cross
has washed every single one of my sins away.

My peace

cost You everything.

So on this day of days

I reaffirm my solemn pledge

to give my life, my all – my everything

back to You.

Happy birthday, Jesus!

All the way back on March 1st, You knew the 300th Lazaroo would fall on the day we celebrate Your birth. That’s deeply meaningful. Thank You, Jesus.
