Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in utter amazement:
“The LORD your God has increased your numbers so that today you are as many as the stars in the sky. May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised!”
(Deuteronomy 1:10-11)
Great God!
You have inundated Your people with outrageous blessing.
You’ve treated us infinitely better than we deserve.
But then…
that’s who You are, isn’t it?
Our over-the-top God!
You are unimaginably generous with Your love.
while the ferocity of Your punishment makes my jaw drop in wide-eyed fear.
You don’t love a little
or hate a little.
You love with all Your majesty
and rain down judgment with all Your power.
You are the majestic architect of heaven
and the fierce designer of hell.
O Jesus!
Give me – along with everyone I can reach – the one
and help me spare multitudes
from the other.
