Lazaroo – Saturday, April 3, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with brutal honesty:

“The man said, ‘Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?’ Then Moses was afraid and thought, ‘What I did must have become known.’”
(Exodus 2:14)

Oh, Jesus.

Like Moses, there are some things I’m ashamed of

desperately ashamed.

I don’t want anyone to know about them.

It would kill me if they found out.

It would make them despise me

withdraw from me in shock
never want to have anything to do with me again.

I wouldn’t blame them
I feel exactly the same way

except

I can’t get away from myself
I’m stuck with me

and this intolerable memory of my sin.

Unless…

I have truly accepted Your death for me on the cross

that totally eradicates Your record of all my sins

and forever frees me from this crushing weight of guilt.

  1. Jeff Says:

“He made known his way to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in Love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us, As a Father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed , He remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103: 7-14
Sorry, didn’t mean to preach, just wanted to share one of my most favorite passages of scripture. “As far as the east is from the west” , east and west never meet. I’m so gratefull that he remebers them no more!!
