Lazaroo – Sunday, April 12, 2009

“Your love is more delightful than wine.”
(Song of Songs 1:2)

Is that how I really feel about You, Jesus?

I know that’s how I’m supposed to feel.

After all, You invented me.  You knit me together in my mother’s womb and breathed life into me.

You sacrificed Your body on the cross to pay for the innumerable sins You knew I would commit against You.  As if all that weren’t enough, You’re even now preparing a place for me in heaven, so I can live with You forever.

And still I have days when I’m more delighted with “wine” – stuff, people, work, entertainment, addictions, distractions, toys.

When You see me doing that…when You feel my frequent disconnection from You…when You watch my wandering eyes…

I cannot fathom why You continue to put up with me!

In fact, Your unquenchable, unthinkable, unimaginable love is…is…

…better than wine.

  1. John Tevault Says:

I do know the Love that is described above, I also know of the distractions, but then that’s when I am able to turn even more over to our Lord. Praise the Lord for the cross, and the faith it took to make that final walk I pray for that faith!
