(Ezra 1:1)
This verse proves You have the power to make a nation’s leaders do what You want them to do.
It also demonstrates that at specific times, You are absolutely willing to exercise that power!
So why do You permit the world’s leaders to commit atrocities? And why do you not force them to do some of the things Your Word says they should?
I’m baffled, Jesus.
But I trust Your vastly superior knowledge, goodness and judgment far above my own.
And so I will rest in this:
That when it is truly necessary, You will step in and make a nation’s leaders do whatever it takes to advance Your kingdom on this earth.

What I have struggled with more is when this principle hits closer to home. When marriages end, or the young die needlessly . . . that is what saps one’s faith. Knowing that God COULD intercede, but apparently doesn’t. I think that is what challenges us the most. However, it still remains: God knows. He sees. We trust.
