Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed passion:
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…”
(1Timothy 1:15)
That’s a wonderful saying, Jesus.
What a beautiful sound in my ears!
so long as I’m aware that I’m a sinner who needs saving
so long as someone I love
is a sinner who needs to hear about You.
But all too easily I forget:
Even after I’ve been saved
after all my loved ones have been reached
it’s still a trustworthy saying
one I’m all too likely
to slide to the back burner.
O God!
Please give me the maturity
to focus on reaching sinners I don’t know.
You made their salvation Your highest priority on this earth.
I’ve got to make it mine!
It took You all the way to the cross.
Please help me take up my cross and follow You
all the way to them.

My heart for the lost was birthed at the Bethel nearly four decades ago. Evangelizing downtown Evansville became the training ground which led to the inner-city streets of Philadelphia. Very different culturally, however, no matter where we are – our mission field.
