Lazaroo – Saturday, November 14, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with full-on ardor:

“The LORD is…great in power.”
(Nahum 1:3)

If there’s anything I know about You, Jesus, it’s this:

You are “great in power.”

In an awesome, ever unfolding display of incomprehensible divine might, You

heal the sick
raise the dead
open deaf ears
walked on water
foretell the future
cast out demons
rose from the dead
determine the future
give sight to the blind
enable the mute to talk
read everyone’s thoughts
sustain everything by Your Word
created the heavens and earth and everything in them
allow everyone to do whatever they want without allowing anyone to thwart Your will

There’s nothing you cannot do.

But when I get to heaven, I’d love to ask You if the greatest thing You ever did with Your power was

nothing.

When You allowed them to nail You to the cross so that Your death-burial-resurrection power

might flow through me.

I cannot imagine having legions of angels at my command and allow someone the injustice of nailing me to a cross for crimes I did not commit. In my human understanding I can hardly fathom the great love our savior has for us. Why don’t we praise him more?
