Lazaroo – Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in faith-filled trust:
“…the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives…
(2 Corinthians 1:5)
I desperately needed this reminder, Jesus.
It helps me understand what is going on right now in my life.
Following You is not an invitation to a picnic.
It’s a call to battle.
I’m not a pampered houseguest.
I’m an soldier.
The bullets are flying
and some of the them are hitting me.
The bombs are exploding
and some of their shrapnel is embedded in me.
They mocked You
cursed You
slapped You
punched You
lied about You
plotted against You
beat You with whips.
Who am I to think if they treated You like this
they won’t treat me the same way?
If it was necessary for You to learn obedience through what You suffered
how much more are suffering’s hard lessons required by me?
Grow me up, Jesus!
No matter what the cost.
