Lazaroo – Friday, March 6, 2009

“I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning.” (Luke 1:3)

I can’t thank You enough for Luke’s shining integrity, Jesus – to know that when he drew up his account of Your Life, he went the extra mile to make certain every fact was checked and every story was true.

You know I’m staking everything on the absolute reliability of the Bible. It means so much to me to catch these glimpses of rock-solid character in the lives of those You appointed to this sacred task.

But ultimately, my confidence is not in the painstaking honesty of Your apostles and prophets. You’ve declared that when they sat down to write, You breathed Your Own Word into them and through them.

I believe You!

As I open my Bible, I love knowing I’m not reading their words.

I’m reading Yours!

“…the author is God and He has the power and authority to take care of His Word and see to it that His children get access…” – Jeff, I’m with you all the way. What’s more, most of the “textual criticism” leveled against the Bible that was so in vogue a few years back has itself been discredited. When all else falls…God’s Word stands.
