Lazaroo – Tuesday, May 26, 2009

“He is to come and sit on my throne and reign in my place.
(1 Kings 1:35)

So that’s how King David surrendered his position to Solomon.

Is David setting an example for me, Jesus?

I admit that when I finally find something I enjoy, I want to keep it.  The idea of giving up my sweet spot is pretty painful.

I’m tempted to say, “Go find your own.  This one’s mine.”

But it isn’t.

It’s Yours.  Everything I have comes from Your hand.

You alone have the right to say when it’s time for me to give my place to someone else.

Sooner or later, my turn will come.

All I ask is that when You ask me to step aside, You guide each step I take…

All the way to the better place You have lovingly prepared for me.

The key to a Christian life is surrender. This is just another example. “Not my will, but Yours.”
