“Her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her.”
(1 Samuel 1:6)

Is there anyone or anything like this in my life, Jesus?

Is there something or someone Satan is using to provoke me to sin – in my thoughts, my words or my actions?

Make me bigger than that.

Make me stronger than that.

Make me wiser than that.

Cause me to rise above it.

Help me see through Satan’s trap and refuse to give in to this ugly tactic.

Grant me the self-control and supernatural patience to deal calmly with every provocation that normally irritates me.

Holy Spirit, fill me with Your love, joy, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and peace that pass all understanding!

The last thing in this world I want to do is let a person, place or thing provoke me to commit the kind of sin…

That provokes You.
