Lazaroo – Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:

“Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles…”
(1 Corinthians 1:22)

How many times have I wanted you to give me a sign, Jesus?

If the Jews 2,000 years ago demanded miraculous signs
then I guess I’m Jewish –

I’ve been known to beg You for a miracle.

How many times have I longed for wisdom, LORD?

If the Greeks 2,000 years ago looked for wisdom
then I guess I’m Greek –

This very day I’m begging You for wisdom.

But while Jews and Greeks were looking for a Savior who met their criteria

You stunned them
by loving them all the way to the cross.

One look at You on that cross caused many to turn away from You in disgust

as it does countless numbers today.

But not me.

Oh, Jesus.
Not me.

He has given us miracles written in the stars and hung on the cross letting us know how much we are worth to Him showing us He is control and will handle the rest. Praise our awesome God.
