Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a searching heart:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’”
(1 Corinthians1:19)

I’ve got to ask You, Jesus:

Why would You destroy the wisdom of the wise?
Why would You frustrate the intelligence of the intelligent?

After all, You’re the one who created wisdom and intelligence!

Not only that –

You’re the one who chose which people would get wisdom
and which would be blessed with intelligence.

Those are blessings, right?

Who wouldn’t want to be wise and smart?

I don’t get it.

What’s the downside?

Unless…

If a person is wise
do they start trusting in their own wisdom?

If a person is smart
do they battle feelings of superiority?

Oh.

So every now and then You have to make all that wisdom and intelligence quit working, don’t You? –

to remind them they’re still nothing

without You.
