“You shall have no other gods before me.”
(Exodus 20:3)

The Bible makes it clear:

Jesus walked this earth as a mortal.

A man.

Not just a man…

but fully man.

The Bible also makes it absolutely clear that Jesus is God.

Not half man, half-God,

Fully God.

As man, Jesus

wept
prayed
felt hunger
grew thirsty
became tired

and when that soldier thrust his spear into His side…

He bled.

But as God Jesus

healed the sick
raised the dead
read our thoughts
opened blind eyes
unstopped deaf ears
calmed a raging storm with three powerful words.

The following (partial!) list of Scriptures reveals beyond the shadow of a doubt that to call Jesus anything less than God is to be an unbeliever…or under the influence of a cult.

God is king of Kings – 1 Timothy 6:15-16

Jesus is the Lamb – John 1:29; John 1:36

God reveals His Name to Moses: “I AM!” – Exodus 3:13-14

Jesus declares Himself to be the “I AM” Who existed before Abraham – John 8:56-58

Jesus calls Himself, “The Lord your God” – Luke 4:12

All of God lives in Jesus – Colossians 2:9

Jesus is the true God – 1 John 5:20

God is Alpha and Omega – Revelation 1:8

Jesus is Alpha and Omega – Revelation 22:13

Jesus is the Root and Offspring of David, the Alpha and Omega – Revelation 22:13; Revelation 22:16

Jesus is our great God –Titus 2:13

Jesus is God over all – Romans 9:5

God created the heavens and the earth – Genesis 1:1

Jesus is creator of all things – Colossians 1:13-17

Jesus is the Word, who is God – John 1:1; John 1:14-15; John 1:29-30

Jesus is our God and Savior –2 Peter 1:1

Jesus is in His very Nature, God – Philippians 2:5-11

In light of this powerful revelation from God’s Word, our only appropriate response is to echo the formerly doubting Thomas’ stunned confession, when he stood face-to-face before the resurrected Jesus and declare:

“My Lord and my God!”
