Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in Christ’s freedom: 

“…our sinful nature…following its desires and thoughts.”
(Ephesians 2:3)

I don’t have to obey my sinful nature anymore, do I, Jesus?

I’ve given myself to You.
I’m not my own.

And I certainly don’t belong to Satan.

True, my sinful nature keeps sticking around, making its same, tired, old demands.

Like a deposed king who won’t leave the country
barking out orders as though he’s still in charge

my sinful nature lives in total denial
doesn’t want to take “no” for an answer.

But when I wave the papers of my new citizenship in You, Jesus

my sinful nature has no choice.
