Lazaroo – Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Apr 24, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with hope-filled dedication:
“…that the LORD may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’”
(1 Kings 2:4)
You do keep Your promises to me, Jesus!
But I don’t always pay close attention.
It would have been easy for King David to say:
“God promised my descendants would always be royalty.”
But You didn’t.
You said David’s descendants would have to
watch how they live
walk faithfully before You
do it with all their heart and soul.
Failing that…potentially
scores
hundreds
thousands
millions
of David’s descendants would never sit on the throne
might even turn away from You
disgrace the name of their father.
Instead of proudly claiming Your promises
I might be wiser
to watch how I live.
