Lazaroo – Saturday, June 2, 2012
Jun 02, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sharpened awareness:
“…disaster has come from the LORD, even to the gate of Jerusalem.”
(Micah 1:12)
“It can’t happen here.”
At least…that’s what we think, Jesus.
But we’re wrong.
It can.
Jerusalem was the chosen city
of Your chosen land
of Your chosen people.
It was where You chose to build Your temple
the place of Your Presence.
But when Your people turned their backs on You
when they began to chase after other gods
when they lived like the heathen
You had no choice.
You sacrificed Jerusalem.
It was the only way You could get their attention
the only way You could stop their pell-mell rush to destruction.
So what’s my Jerusalem?
What area of my life do I think is totally safe
sacred
untouchable
no matter what I do?
That’s a lie straight from the pits of hell, isn’t it?
If I ever abandon You
my Jerusalem
can fall.

Dear Steve, I am really blessed from reading your Lazaroo’s. I hope they never stop. When I was growing up listening to your Dad every Sunday, I always was blessed by the sermons and lessons from your Dad. I never wanted to listen to anyone else. May God bless all of you.
