Lazaroo – Thursday, June 7, 2012
Jun 07, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heartfelt devotion:
“Therefore, this is what the LORD says: ‘I will return to Jerusalem with mercy…’”
(Zechariah 1:16)
That’s the only way I want to encounter You, Jesus –
when You’re coming to me
arms wide open in mercy.
I don’t deserve it anymore than Jerusalem did –
probably less.
But oh, how I need it!
I don’t want what I deserve.
I’m not asking for justice.
I don’t want what I have coming.
You won’t catch me complaining when things get difficult:
“Why is this happening to me?!”
I know why.
I deserve far worse.
Even though I constantly experience Your mercy
even though You shower me with mercy day after day
I never get used to it
I never take it for granted.
Every time You treat me better than I deserve
I shake my head in wonder.
Thank You, Jesus!
Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!
