You’re not just telling me I need to have faith, Jesus…

You’re telling me this is how I should live

every day
every moment
full time

no matter what the circumstance.

By faith.

That even when things look terrible
even when everything feels like it’s falling apart
even when my future appears bleak and utterly hopeless

I’m to keep my eyes fixed on You.

I’m to hold steady
not panic
not give up.

To do so would be an insult to You!

You’ve promised You will never leave me
never forsake me

that You are working in this for my good
that You will never put on me more than I can bear.

Okay.

Sounds good…

until trouble comes.

That’s when I get to match my walk to my talk –

and discover I can actually live

by this faith I profess.
