Lazaroo – Monday, July 23, 2012
Jul 23, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a healthy fear of God:
“Therefore the Lord, the LORD Almighty, the Mighty One of Israel, declares: ‘Ah, I will get relief from my foes and avenge myself on my enemies.’”
(Isaiah 1:24)
I need to be reminded that this, too
is who You are, Jesus.
We love to talk about Your mercy, love and forgiveness –
and for good reason!
All of that is real and for that I am deeply grateful.
But You have another side.
You’re the creator of both heaven
…and hell.
You are amazingly patient with us
but there’s a line we can cross
to the enemy side.
I don’t ever want to become Your enemy, LORD!
Since I tend to mirror the people I’m with
I’ve got to be certain my friends
are Your friends
and Your enemies
are mine.
I’d do well to remember:
It just makes good sense not to stand
where Your fist must come down.
