Lazaroo – Monday, December 3, 2012
Dec 03, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from costly experience:
“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin.”
(1 John 2:1)
I hate sinning, Jesus.
I’ve done way too much of it.
I don’t like it anymore.
The pleasure is never as good as I think it’s going to be.
It never lasts as long as I think it will.
No matter how sweet the first taste
it always turns bitter in my mouth.
But its real stench arrives in the aftermath.
Just knowing it’s coming makes me sick to my stomach.
Sooner or later I’m forced to pay for what I’ve done –
sometimes this way…sometimes that.
But it’s never worth it.
I always get the short end of the deal.
As I look back I can see its devastation on my life
over and over and over again.
But worst of all
is the pain it brings
to those I love.
