Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed passion for your mission:

“‘On that day, declares the LORD, ‘a cry will go up from the Fish Gate…’”
(Zephaniah 1:10)

The Fish Gate is important to me, isn’t it, LORD?

First came the Sheep Gate
symbolizing Your sheep, the people of Israel

who sacrificed sheep to pay for their sins
before You sent Your Son –

“the Lamb of God” –

to take away the sins of the world.

But it was no accident that the Fish Gate
was the very next gate, was it?

Because after I become one of Your sheep
the very next thing You call me to do

is go fishing.

When You called Your first disciples, You didn’t promise them wealth or fame.

You didn’t promise them a life of ease.

You promised to make them fishers of people.

O Jesus!

Help me wear a path to the Fish Gate
as You fulfill that same promise

in me.
